An electronic platform for the registration of remote companies was launched Wednesday at the headquarters of Tunisian Confederation of Industry Trade and Handicrafts (UTICA), under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister, Najla Bouden.
According to a statement of the Prime Ministry, the launch was announced at a conference on the theme “the digitalisation of the administration and business for economic development.
Bouden considered that this platform will allow to enshrine the principles of transparency of economic transactions, as well as to fight against tax evasion, money laundering and terrorist financing, in addition to encouraging people active in the informal economy to integrate the organised circuit.
The Prime Minister stressed that the government is working to establish and develop the digital administration, to give more efficiency to the speed of services and simplify the procedures that must be of quality, to improve the business climate.
She added that the registration of companies remotely will reduce the documents, time and costs when creating a company.
Bouden said that the digitalisation of administrative services and the networking of public databases have become unavoidable.
The Prime Minister considered that the Startup Act, which is part of the national strategic plan “Digital Tunisia 2020-2025”, aims to encourage young people to create wealth and make Tunisia a regional hub that attracts researchers in Africa and the Mediterranean, which is likely to promote the creation of high value-added jobs for young Tunisian graduates.
She expressed the commitment of the government to implement more reforms for the benefit of businesses and startups to reposition Tunisia on the map of attractive countries for investment.
Among the reforms mentioned by Bouden, is the exemption of registration fees, when incorporating a company, to promote the total digitalization of the process of creating companies, from the granting of the tax identifier to the legal incorporation remotely, and at low cost.
