The market capitalization held by foreigners on the Tunis Stock Exchange in September 2023 reached nearly TND 5.026 billion, or 21.2% of the total market capitalization, according to the monthly newsletter published by the Tunis Stock Exchange.
Purchases of listed securities by foreigners in September 2023 totaled a very low TND 351,000, compared to sales of 6231,000 dinars, resulting in a net negative balance of 5879,000 dinars.
Securities held by foreigners on the main market in September 2023 were mainly in the financial companies (239,093,641 securities), consumer goods (172,121,926 securities) and industrial (18,128,345 securities) sectors.
The Tunindex closed September 2023 at 8,458.43 points, down 5.38%, after a fall of 0.97% in August 2023.
Since the beginning of the year, its cumulative gains fell to 4.30%, compared to a gain of 18.12% in the same period of 2022. The Tunisian stock market currently has 79 companies listed on the main market.
