EU’s foreign affairs ministers to discuss ACP budget

The European Union’s Foreign Affairs ministers on Monday met in Brussels, the Belgian capital, to discuss the budget to be provided for the African Caribbean and Pacific countries for the period 2014-2020, within the framework of the 11th European Development Fund (FED), PANA reported here.

In a press release, the Council of member-states said the ministers are expected to approve a 31.5 billion budget for the 78 ACP countries.

The ACP group has set a high-profile panel, headed by the Nigeria’s ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo, which is tasked with looking into the future of the Cotonou Agreement signed in 2000 and due to end in 2020.
