EU grants Ethiopia 50 million euro additional aid

The European Union has granted an additional aid of 50 million euros to Ethiopia to improve its food security and strengthen the populations hit by drought in the south and the east of the country, says a statement from the European Commission released on Tuesday in Brussels.

The money will be used to purchase food for vulnerable populations and production of vegetables.

The money will also be used to help in the production of milk and fodder, finance the vaccination campaign for the cattle and improve the management of natural resources such as water and pasture, according to the statement.
