Pierre Reteno N’diaye of Gabon has been elected head of the Association of African refiners (ARA), replacing Nigerian Anthony Anthony Ogbuigwe.
N’diaye was elected during the ninth General Assembly of the organization which had been on since Monday in Marrakech, Morocco.
N’diaye, the general manager of the Gabonese refining company (SOGARA), will lead the organization for one year.
In addition to all of the African refineries, ARA also includes regulatory agencies, traders and intermediate organizations.
The next general assembly of the organization is scheduled for the 27-29 March, 2015, in Cape Town, South Africa.
