Gabonese railway company’s revenue declines in 2010

The company operating the Transgabonese railway line, SETRAG, has announced a decrease in its turnover from 11,867 billion CFA francs in 2009 to 8,073 billion CFA francs as at 15 December, 2010.

The company said the decline in revenues followed government’s measure to prohibit the export of timber in log form. The railway line was used by foresters to move timber for exports.

SETRAG had generated in 2007 a turnover of 14.48 billion francs CFA from timber transportation alone
