sub-regional meeting on regional electricity market Wednesday opened in the Gambia, PANA learnt from official sources.
According to sources, the meeting is part of ECOWAS’s “fast-track regional electricity market” programme.
The two-day meeting which came on the heels of a meeting by technicians was said to have been spearheaded by ECOWAS Regional Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERERA).
The main aim of the meeting is geared towards promoting cooperation and information exchange among regulatory bodies of ECOWAS member states.
Participants are Energy and Finance Ministers from ECOWAS member States, parliamentarians, various national regulatory authorities, and consumer groups, among others.
