The Executive Director Group 1 of the World Bank, Toga M cintosh, says Gambia has qualified for the World Bank food crisis grants and that documentation has been finalized to that effect.
According to Gambia Radio and Television Service, Mcintosh made the disclosure W ednesday when he called on the Gambian Vice President Aja Isatou Njie-Saidy to i n form her about the position of the bank regarding assistance to member countries .
According to him, the bank’s greatest problem was the need to make grants availa ble to those countries facing acute food crisis.
He added that the Gambia had qualified for the food crisis grants.
Mcintosh said his mission to the Gambia was to discuss with the vice president t he forthcoming World Bank meeting in New York, US, to which Gambia has been invi t ed.
