Germany willing to help Tunisia overcome economic difficulties due to COVID-19 crisis

Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts Mohamed Ali Toumi, on Tuesday, met with German ambassador to Tunisia Andreas Reinicke.

The German diplomat stressed his country’s willingness to help Tunisia overcome economic difficulties at the social and development levels, in the light of the COVID-19 global crisis.

He expressed the German government’s willingness to enhance coordination and cooperation with Tunisia in various priority areas, such as support for small and medium enterprises, employment and training, tourism development as well as investment, said a statement by the Ministry of Tourism.

The Minister emphasised the difficult period faced by Tunisia due to the spread of the COVID-19, particularly at the social and economic levels, highlighting the need for Tunisia to boost partnership with Germany, in order to meet the economy challenges.

Toumi highlighted the privileged relations uniting Tunisia and Germany, stressing the remarkable development of bilateral cooperation, especially in the economic, investment, financial and technical fields.
