IMF Managing Director expected in Côte d’Ivoire on Sunday

The Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Mrs Christine Lagarde, begins a three-day visit to Côte d’Ivoire on Sunday, according to a statement from the Ivorian Ministry of Economy and Finance.

It said Mrs Lagarde’s visit was to consolidate gains made during 50 years of cooperation between IMF and Côte d’Ivoire.

During the visit, Mrs Lagarde is expected to hold talks with Ivorian President Alassane Ouattara, and have several working sessions with Prime Minister Daniel Kablan Duncan and the Minister of Economy and Finance, Nialé Kaba.

Mrs Lagarde will on Monday address the Ivorian parliament that would convene in an extraordinary session and also inaugurate the IMF Regional Technical Assistance Centre (AFRITAC).
