Tunisia and the Maldives pledge to develop cooperation in tourism and agriculture

Discussions have been held on exchange of expertise in the fields of fisheries, agriculture and tourism progress between Maldives and Tunisia.

Talks were held between President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and the Ambassador of Tunisia to Maldives, Hayet Talbi Bilel who presented her Letter of Credence to the Maldivian president on Monday.

Discussions also focused on enhancing bilateral ties, Covid-19, development cooperation, bolstering international cooperation, potential avenues of cooperation in fisheries, agriculture and tourism progress as well as cooperation on human rights, counter-terrorism, peace and security.

The Maldivian President expressed commitment to work with the government of Tunisia on these common goals, going on to express hope that the long-standing ties between both countries, will be extended in the coming years.

He also discussed increased cooperation in trade and investment opportunities and expressed keenness to explore potential avenues for collaboration.
