Italy cancels Togo’s 1.34 billion FCFA debt

Italy has cancelled Togo’s debt, estimated at 2,029,631.71 euros or 1.34 billion FCFA, official sources told PANA on Monday in Lomé.

According to the sources, the cancellation is within the framework of the application of the Paris Club.

The cancellation takes place months after Togo reached the achievement point of the process for the Heavily Indebted Poor Countries (HIPC).

France, Switzerland and Japan have also cancelled Togo’s debts to their countries
