Libya to grant new oil licences

Libya is to grant new mining and oil production licences as part of efforts to to reach pre-crisis production level of 1.5 million barrels per day, Libyan Minister of Petroleum Al-Abdel Bari Al-Alroussi said.

According to the Minister, the objective is to increase oil production by 100,000 barrels per day in the coming months, and to reach two million barrels a day by 2015.

Speaking in an interview, he also announced that Libya would begin negotiations to review the partnership agreements in mining and oil production, signed by the regime of Muammar Kadhafi.

According to him, this revision will be in the interest of Libyans and the partners.
