The Libyan Oil authorities on Wednesday announced new oil discoveries that will increase the country’s production capacities.
In a statement, the authorities said that one of the nation’s companies, Sirte company for oil production, made new discoveries in two oil well drillings, saying that the average production in the first well is estimated at 1,751 barrels per day, as against 963,000 cubic metres of gas per day.
As for the second well, its daily oil production capacity is estimated at 433,000 barrels, as against 1,049,000 cubic metres of gas/day.
The announcement follows the recent decline in production, caused by sit-ins and protests at production sites, the last of which was at the Al-Zawaytina camp (East) a few days ago.
