Morocco, Libya agree to strengthen economic ties

Morocco and Libya have agreed to strengthen ties, saying they will explore means of investing in the industrial sector, Moroccan Minister of Industry, Trade and new technologies, Abdelkader Amar, and his Libyan counterpart, Suleiman Ali Latif al-Faytouri said Wednesday in a joint statement.

The statement, released here by the Moroccan Ministry of Industry at the end of working session, said the two ministers discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the industrial field through the establishment of companies and enhancing mutual visits.

The Moroccan minister said his country was motivated by the fact that Moroccan expertise in this area, especially the textile industry, would be put at the disposal of Libyan businesses.

The ministers also examined the progress made by Morocco in the fields of aviation, car industry, electricity and other services.

Amar announced that a Moroccan delegation will visit Libya soon to assess investment and partnership opportunities there.

Also speaking, the Libyan minister said that the two States agreed to exchange frequent visits by experts.
