New York Forum Africa 2 opens in Libreville

The second edition of the New York Forum Africa opened Friday in Libreville, the Gabonese capital, under the theme “New challenges, new hopes, new leadership,” PANA reported from here.

According to organizers, the forum which ends on Sunday, is being attended by hundreds of participants, including businessmen, financial decision-makers, diplomats and political leaders.

The Ivorian President Alassane Ouattara, as the sponsor of the forum, is expected in Libreville on Saturday.

The organizers said the forum will lay particular emphasis on the importance of African local economy, especially the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) that account for about 90 per cent of the private sector in Africa.

Businessman and founder of the event, Richard Attias, and his team intend to further shape the ambition of the emergence of Africa, now spurred by the desire to play a key role in the establishment of a new world economic order.

“As a laboratory of ideas and creators of influential initiatives, we hope to harness the power of collaborative action by participants to convince investors and offer to each of them new methods to better manage and know the ropes in this new world,” Mr. Attias said.
