Next presidential summit between Libya, Algeria and Tunisia in Tripoli

Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf has announced the start of preparations for the third tripartite summit with Libya and Tunisia in Tripoli early this year, Libyan news agency LANA reported.

During a press conference dedicated to reviewing the activities of Algerian diplomacy during 2024, Attaf confirmed the coordination with Libya and Tunisia to prepare for the third summit to be held in Tripoli this month.

Attaf noted that his country’s proposal to set up a tripartite consultation mechanism has been approved and has involved Libya and Tunisia, where meetings have been held leading to real cooperation projects to address issues of direct concern to these countries.

The leaders of Algeria, Tunisia and Libya agreed to hold a “Maghreb tripartite meeting” every three months at the first summit held in Algeria on the sidelines of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum last February.

Last April, Tunisia hosted the second tripartite summit, attended by the President of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Menfi, Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and Tunisian President Kais Saied.
