Nigeria’s aviation regulator gets new boss

Nigeria’s President Goodluck Jonathan has nominated Capt. Fola Akinkuotu as the new Director General of the regulatory Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).

The President made the appointment in a letter to the Senate requesting the confirmation of the appointee, who is the Rector of the College of Aviation in Ilorin, capital of central Kwara State.

The letter was read on the floor of the Senate by its President, David Mark, Thursday.

If the appointment is ratified, Capt. Akinkuotu will replace Dr Harold Demuren, who was sacked this week.
