The second edition of the Nouakchott Economic Forum kicked off Sunday in Mauritania under the theme ‘Diaspora and Investment in Mauritania’, PANA reported.
Some 150 foreign experts are attending the event.
Organised by the private firm 3MC in partnership with the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Development, the Forum aims to provide practical responses to challenges facing Mauritanian companies and encourage the country’s Diaspora to invest more in the country.
Despite economic policies launched since independence, over 40% of the Mauritanian population live below the poverty line.
