Passenger traffic up 8.8% said OACA

The passenger traffic through Tunisian airports edged up 8.8% by the end of May 2024, compared with the same period in 2023, with 3.313,607 passengers, data published on Thursday by the Civil Aviation and Airports Office (French: OACA) show.

This upward trend was seen in air traffic at most Tunisian airports, with increases of 8.2% at Tunis Carthage Airport (2.665,641 passengers), +9.3% at Djerba-Zarzis International Airport (565,709), +16.3% at Sfax-Thyna International Airport (64,955), +153.2% at Tozeur-Nefta International Airport (15,854) and +58.1% at Tabarka-Ain Draham International Airport (1,448).

OACA data further showed a 6.3% rise to 28,097 in the aircraft movements.

The aircraft movements rose by 6.8% to 22,034 at Tunis Carthage Airport, +6.4% to 4,386 at Djerba-Zarzis International Airport, +0.6% to 1,373 at Sfax-Thyna International Airport and +70.1% to 228 at the Tozeur-Nefta Airport.

However, it fell by 15.6% at the Tabarka-Ain Draham Airport.

The overflying traffic (aircraft transiting through the Tunisian airspace) also rose by 20.7% to 24,902.
