South Sudan: arrival and reception of the 1st batch of 29 newly recruited Civil Service Support Officers (CSSOs)

UNDP cordially invites the members of the media in South Sudan for the ‘arrival and reception of the 1st batch of 29 newly recruited Civil Service Support Officers (CSSOs) from Kenya. The officers will be deployed for two years of service with the Government of South Sudan under the RSS/IGAD Initiative.

Note to the Editors: The RSS/IGAD Initiative is a regional cooperation project through which the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) member states of Ethiopia, Kenya and Uganda help South Sudan in enhancing the capacity of its civil servants. The civil servants will be seconded to government institutions to provide mentoring and coaching to their South Sudanese counterparts. The 1st batch of Civil Service Support Officers from Kenya includes medical specialists, economists, trade, commerce and industrial development experts, geologists, ICT specialists, and laboratory technicians.
