The Ministry of Communication Technologies has awarded 23 new startup labels, bringing to 607 the total number of labels awarded, under the “Startup Act” programme, which aims to promote startups launched or based in Tunisia.
These labels were granted, Tuesday, under the October session, the ministry announced.
248 labels have been granted, out of 416 applications submitted, during the period from April 2019 to April 2020, i. e. an acceptance rate of 70%, according to the activity report outlining the main highlights and key indicators relating to the activity of the Startup Act.
The labelled startups generated a cumulative turnover of 66 million dinars in 2019. 72% of which were carried out on the Tunisian market and allowed the creation of 2829 jobs.
