The Tunisia-Africa Business Council (TABC) led a multisector economic mission to Conakry from October 28 to November 2, on the sidelines of the Forum for Inclusive Growth in Africa (FOCIA).
The purpose of the mission was to strengthen economic cooperation between Tunisia and Guinea and to promote South-South trade within a framework of sustainable African integration, the TABC said.
The meetings provided an opportunity to explore new avenues of bilateral cooperation, particularly in the fields of energy, water, infrastructure, digital technology, industrial transformation, and trade development.
Discussions also focused on enhancing Guinea’s natural resources, promoting Tunisian investment to support local transformation and strengthening partnerships between Tunisian and Guinean companies.
Guinea is currently undergoing a historic turning point with the implementation of the SIMANDOU project, one of the largest mining and infrastructure projects in Africa, valued at over $20 billion.
The project involves the exploitation of one of the world’s largest iron ore deposits, the council noted.
During the forum, TABC President Anis Jaziri received the FOCIA 2025 First Prize, in recognition of his visionary leadership and pan-African commitment.
