The two parties have also discussed economic reforms planned by the Tunisian authorities and can be supported by international partners including the IMF, “following an official request made this week by Tunisian Prime Minister Najla Bouden to the Managing Director of the Fund, Kristalina Georgieva.

The Tunisian delegation and representatives of the IMF have emphasised the importance of strategic directions adopted by the Tunisian government that will be translated, in part, at the level of the Finance Act (LF) 2022, and which can give a strong signal both to donors and Tunisian and foreign investors.

“In this connection, a consensus has emerged on the importance of involving all national stakeholders in the conduct of these reforms,” said the BCT.
