UGTT steering committee to meet Wednesday

The Executive Board of the Tunisian General Labor Union (UGTT) has decided to convene the steering committee for a meeting Wednesday, November 10, in Hammamet, UGTT spokesperson Sami Tahri told TAP on Sunday.

Tahri said the administrative committee is scheduled to review the national situation and the preparation for the meeting scheduled with the government next November 15.

During this meeting with the government, the UGTT delegation will be headed by Secretary General Noureddine Taboubi and include several members of the organisation’s executive board, while Prime Minister Najla Bouden will head the government team that will receive the UGTT delegation in Kasbah, the same source added.

The meeting, the first of its kind since the announcement of the new government, is to examine the outstanding agreements between the UGTT and the former governments and the issue of wage negotiations for 2021, 2022 and 2023.

It will also be an opportunity to define the relationship between the government and the UGTT in the coming period, according to the same source.
