The West African state of Togo is taking measures to moderni se foreign commercial transactions aimed at making import-export operations easi e r.
The Togolese authorities in charge of commercial issues say this would be done t hrough simplifying formalities and procedures, reduction of the costs of commerc i al transactions and a prompt availability of goods.
Sources told PANA in Lomé on Thursday that Togo, which is trying to find ways to boost its economy and improve its commercial environment, will put the measures
in place by the end of July. The sources said at the close of a cooperation meeting, which brought together e conomic operators and administration officials, that the measures were aimed to f ight against incidental expenses and corruption, as the country encouraged inves t ors into an improved commercial environment.
