Officials from several Arab and Islamic financia l institutions are expected in Nouakchott to attend the inauguration of projects as part of the celebration of Mauritania’s 50th anniversary, official sources told PANA on Tuesday.
They include the chairman of the board of directors of the Arab Fund for Economi c and Social Development (FADES), Abdelatif Youssouf Al Hamad, the chairman of t h e board of directors of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), Ahmad Mohamed Ali an d the chairmen of the board of directors of the Saudi Development Fund.
These financial institutions have contributed to the financing of important proj ects due to be inaugurated, such as Aftout Essahli, which is the supply of potab l e water for Nouakchott from the Senegal river, which is the natural border betwe e n Senegal and Mauritania.
