The number of Tunisian professionals recruited abroad in 2025 stood at 2,902, down from 3,650 in 2024, according to 2025 statistics from the Tunisian Agency for Technical Cooperation (ATCT).
Germany topped the list of destination countries in 2025, attracting 647 Tunisian professionals, followed by Saudi Arabia with 358, Canada (339), France (331), the Sultanate of Oman (300), Qatar (183), and Italy (139).
The health sector was the most in-demand specialty, with 1,244 medical and paramedical staff recruited, accounting for 43% of total secondments. It was followed by the education sector with 620 secondments (21%), then administration (214), cultural and sports sectors (192), industry (180), and tourism and services (156).
The total number of professionals and experts seconded through the ATCT reached 27,486, with 52% in Arab countries, 31% in Europe, and 13% in Canada.
The agency also noted that, within the framework of triangular cooperation and South-South cooperation, 22 experts in various fields, including export promotion, agriculture, irrigation, and fisheries, were deployed in 2025 to benefit African and Arab countries such as Chad, Guinea, the Sultanate of Oman, and Jordan.
