Tourism revenues fall 60% to 372 million dinars in Q1

The fall in tourism revenues continues in the first quarter of the current year. After declining by 64% in 2020, cumulative revenues from the tourism sector reached 372 million dinars at the end of March 2021, compared to 930 million a year earlier, down 60%.

The measures adopted by Tunisia in the context of the coronavirus epidemic, which concern non-resident arrivals in Tunisia, have strongly impacted tourism activity during the first quarter.

On the other hand, and to promote Tunisia as a destination, the Minister of Tourism, Habib Ammar, visited Russia (April 5-7, 2021), along with Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs Mohamed Ali Nafti and Director General of the National Observatory of New and Emerging Diseases, Nissaf Ben Alaya.
