Austrian company “OMV” will provide support to the Tunisian authorities to develop the pipeline of the South,” said Austrian Vice Chancellor and Minister for European and International Affairs, Michael Spindelegger at his meeting Thursday in Tunis with Mohamed Lamine Chakhari, Minister of Industry.
Established in Tunisia, the Austrian oil company is a partner of the Tunisian Enterprise of Petroleum Activities (ETAP) in this project. It holds several concessions and exploration permits in Tunisia.
The Vice-Chairman of the company, who attended the meeting, spoke about the conditions of the project and the commitment of his company to help accelerate its implementation.
Tunisian Minister of Industry welcomed this support, stating that the revised route of the Southern Pipeline was made in accordance with the aspirations of the citizens of Tataouine.
This new project will create a new dynamic in the Tataouine region, added the minister, emphasizing the desire to diversify trade with Austria.
