The unemployment rate fell 2.2% in 2012? Director of the National Institute of Statistics (INS) announced in a press briefing held Wednesday.
This rate was 18.9% in the fourth quarter of 2011 against 16.7% for the same period in 2012.
Jalel Ben Rjeb, director of the INS said that 85,000 job positions were created in 2012, despite the loss of another 20,000 jobs in agriculture, social services, tourism and catering and mechanical industries.
