Tunisia: Agriculture Ministry, GIZ sign agreements on 2 cooperation projects

The Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries and the German International Cooperation Agency (GIZ), on Wedenesday, signed two agreements on the implementation of two cooperation projects in the field of sustainable agricultural economy and support for water sector reforms.

The two cooperation agreements concern the implementation of the project for the promotion of sustainable agricultural economy (French: PEAD) carried out by the General Directorate of Studies and Agricultural Development (French: DGEDA) and the Project to support reforms in the water sector and the preservation of natural resources in Tunisia (A_RESET) developed by the Office of Planning and Water Balances (BPEH), the ministry said, in a statement,

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Minister of Agriculture Akissa Bahri highlighted the role of the German International Cooperation Agency and its ongoing technical and logistical support to Tunisia in the agricultural sector.

Representative of the German Embassy in Tunis Rike Sohn, head of the MDP project, Walter Engelberg, and head of the A-RESET project, Manfred Matz, as well as the Directors General in the Ministry concerned attended the agreement signing ceremony.
