Tunisia aims to achieve 5% export rate to Africa (official)

Tunisia aims to achieve a 5% export rate to Africa in 2026-2027, In a statement to Africanmanager on Thursday 21 March, Fakhri Bouzaiane, deputy director of cooperation with African countries and the African Union at the Ministry of Trade told AfricanManager on Thursday.

Bouazaine explained that this objective depends essentially on the agreements Tunisia has signed, such as the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA).

He went on to say that Tunisia wanted to focus on Africa, although it was aware that there were still many challenges to overcome in order to capture its markets, including the lack of air and sea links, the small number of diplomatic missions and the lack of banking support.
