Tunisia and Algeria initialled, Monday in Algiers, a draft agreement on cooperation in the industrial property sector and another in metrology, on the sidelines of the 9th meeting of the Tunisian-Algerian industrial cooperation committee.
During the meeting, Minister of Industry, Energy and Mining Zakaria Hamad and his Algerian counterpart Abdessalem Bouchouareb also initialed an agreement in the field of development of industrial zones, the Ministry of Industry said in a statement Monday.
This initialling comes ahead of the signing of these agreements during the next session of the High Joint Committee to be held soon in Algiers.
The two sides reviewed the areas of cooperation between the two ministries and several Tunisian and Algerian support and coaching structures, expressing their satisfaction with the implementation of programs and projects.
The Minister of Industry met during the working visit he made to Algeria on 27 and 28 September 2015 some members of the Algerian government, including Minister of Energy Salah Khebri and Minister of Commerce Bakhti Belaib.
The talks focused on ways to develop bilateral cooperation in the fields of industry and energy, particularly regarding the renewal of contracts to supply Tunisia with Algerian natural gas and expanding the storage capacity of liquefied gas in Tunisia.
The ministers also discussed the opportunities for trade and development of economic exchanges between Tunisia and Algeria.
