Tunisia: AmCham assists local startups to enter US market

The American Chamber of Commerce in Tunisia (AmCham Tunisia) aims, as the representative of the Tunisian private sector in the US-Tunisia Joint Economic Commission, to support Tunisian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) wishing to expand internationally by helping them with the financial and logistics obstacles they face.

As such, Amcham Tunisia has decided to launch the program “Soft Landing in Silicon Valley”, aimed at assisting Tunisian Start-ups to enter the US market, by providing them with the opportunity of a presence (limited to one month per participant to begin with) within Galvanize.

This prestigious Co-working space in San Francisco, California, is home to internationally renowned firms such as Google for Entrepreneurs, Silicon Valley Bank, IBM Bluemix, PWC, as well as other companies operating in new technologies and digital economy.

The start-ups selected for this program will have access to a dedicated workspace and conference rooms and will have access to various courses provided by Galvanize. They will also have the opportunity for free participation in all community events held during their stay.

This project is as major opportunity for participating Tunisian start-ups, as it will allow them to have access to work space and to meet with potential customers and investors; and will also give them a chance to operate for a month in the unique environment of Silicon Valley and creation connections/networks with influential actors of the US markets.

The program is open to Tunisian startups working in the digital economy and with the potential for development in the North American market.

AmCham Tunisia would like to thank all of its sponsors and members who have contributed to the financing for this program destined for the fantastic Tunisian youth.
