Tunisia: ASSAD’s debt approaches TND 100 million in H1

Sales at the Tunisian battery manufacturer ASSAD fell by 13.5% in the first half of 2023, compared with the same period in 2022, from TND 42.8 million to TND 37 million.

In the second quarter of 2023 alone, sales amounted to 23.4 million dinars, an increase of 30.1% compared with the same period of 2022.

In the first half of the year, local sales fell by 13.5% to 16 million dinars. Similarly, exports fell by 13.5% to 20.5 million dinars.

Production for the first six months of 2023 rose by 25.1% year-on-year to 362,496 Standard Battery Equivalents.

Investments during the period totaled 7.3 million dinars, while the company’s total debt increased by 8.5% compared with December 31, 2022, and now stands at 99 million dinars, including 68 million dinars in operating loans.
