Tunisia: BCT in contact with Moody’s to defer rating date to February 2022

Contacts are underway between the Central Bank of Tunisia and the rating agency Moody’s to convince it to postpone until next February the date of its sovereign rating report which, it is believed, will be downgraded under the effect of the economic crisis and the delay in government formation, a source of the BCT told Africanmanager on Thursday.

The same source added that each setback in the formation of the new government will result in a further loss of confidence of rating agencies in the Tunisian economy, especially since the supplementary finance law 2021 has yet to see the light of day, along with the draft finance law of 2022.
