Tunisia: BNA Bank announces NBI of 580 million dinars up 27% at end of September

The “Banque National Agricole” (BNA Bank) achieved banking operating income of 1.1 billion dinars as of September 30, 2021 against 984 million dinars a year earlier, posting an increase of 114 million dinars, or 11.6%.

Banking operating expenses, on the other hand, saw a decrease of 10 million dinars, from 527 million dinars to 517 million at the end of September 2020, down 1.8%.

As a result, net banking income (NBI) stood at 580 million dinars, compared to 457 million dinars a year earlier, recording an increase of 27%.

The total amount of operating expenses grew 22.5% between September 2020 and September 2021 from 215 million dinars to 263 million.

This increase is mainly due to the salary increase and the revision of the retirement benefit which was brought from six to twelve months of salary, under the agreement signed between APTBEF and the General Federation of Banks and Financial Institutions under the UGTT dated July 26, 2021.

The outstanding amount of operating expenses increased by 22.5% between September 2020 and September 2021.

The outstanding receivables from customers (net of provisions and reserved agios) reached 12.7 billion dinars as of September 30, 2021, compared to 12 billion dinars at the end of September 2020, up 6.1%.

Customer deposits recorded an increase of 1.1 billion dinars, representing a growth of 12.5% between September 2020 and September 2021.
