Penalized by the suspension of all its activities between March 28 and April 28, 2020, following the general lockdown, the company Carthage Cement saw its turnover fall by 16% at the end of the first six months of the current year, to 102 million dinars.
This regression is mainly due to the 92% drop in exports from 12.4 million dinars at the end of June 2019 to 1 million dinars on June 30.
However, the resumption of deliveries of cement with EC marking to Italy took place in June 2020.
On the other hand, local sales were almost maintained at the same level as in the first half of last year (-1%), despite the cessation of activity for more than a month.
As for the outstanding debt, it reached 440.7 million dinars at the end of last June, a decrease of 18% compared to December 30, 2019, following the completion of the capital increase and the implementation of the debt repayment plan agreed with banks and donors.
