Tunisia: Carthage Cement reports 56% increase in turnover in 2013

The turnover of Carthage Cement rose to 48.530 million Tunisian dinars (MTD) until December 31, 2013, up 56 % compared to 2012, according to the indicators of activity in the fourth quarter of 2013 reported by MCP.

The increase is the result of a combined effect of a 18% growth between 2012 and 2013 for aggregates and ready concrete activities and the achievement of a turnover of 11.948 MTD in clinker and cement, while the cement plant has started marketing the cement as from December 24, 2013, says the broker.

As regards the financial structure of the cement plant, the debt continues to grow to stand at 515 MTD in December 31, 2013 against 480 MTD in the same period in 2012.

Since October 2013, Carthage Cement began the production of clinker, the main component for the manufacture of cement. Production reached 332,715 tons.

From this clinker, the cement plant produced 42,873 tons of cement.
