Tunisia: Carthage Cement sees revenues rise 13% in Q3

Carthage Cement has managed to increase both clinker, cement and aggregate production and sales for all activities combined during the third quarter of 2020.

This improvement in turnover has positively marked the third 2020. Indeed, the impact of the crisis COVID-19 was reduced to -6% as of September 30, 2020 (-16% as of June 30, 2020), to reach 172 million dinars, compared to 183 million for the same period of the previous year.

For the third quarter, the cement manufacturer has improved by 13% its overall turnover to 70.1 million dinars.

Cement turnover on the local market recorded an 18% increase to 61.8 million dinars, compared to 143 million last year.

For the export market, turnover from cement exports fell by 67% during the third quarter to 409 thousand dinars, compared to 1.2 million dinars in the third quarter of 2019.

As of September 30, the overall debt reached 438.7 million dinars, compared to 542.3 million at the end of December 2019. This decrease in outstanding debt results from the completion of the capital increase and the implementation of the debt repayment plan agreed with banks and lenders.
