The Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT) has been authorized to grant facilities to the General Treasury of the Republic of Tunisia, up to a maximum amount of 11 billion dinars.
This is by way of derogation from the provisions of Article 25 of Law No. 35-2016 of April 25, 2016, establishing the statutes of the Central Bank of Tunisia.
According to the Draft Finance Law for the 2026 fiscal year, these facilities are granted interest-free and are repayable over a period of 15 years, including a 3-year grace period.
An agreement will be concluded between the Minister of Finance and the Governor of the Central Bank of Tunisia to specify, in particular, the terms for drawing down and repaying the facilities granted.
