Rabah Jrad, CEO of Tunisair, Tuesday, accused Syphax Airlines of unfair and illegal competition based on studies made by Tunisair, explaining that the two companies have agreed in advance not to compete in the choice of air routes.
“I wonder how a young company can open a line serving Montreal,” he told Express FM.
He added that the opening of a line requires months or even years of extensive research and he questioned Syphax Airlines’ ability to conduct such studies in a short period.
CEO of Tunisair has also indicated that the company’s restructuring is essential to be able to compete with low cost and embrace the Open Sky.
On the fifth freedom, he said Tunisair will not grant this privilege to Qatar Airways.
