Tunisia: CEPEX trains companies to export to AfCFTA

A training session entitled “How to export to the African Continental Free Trade Area (ACFTA)” is organized for Tunisian companies exporting and potentially exporting goods to African markets.

Initiated by the Center for Export Promotion (CEPEX) and the International Trade Center (ITC), this training program provides a form of support for the implementation of the AfCFTA, which will constitute a market of 1.2 billion people representing 2.5 billion dollars of cumulative GDP.

This training aims to raise awareness of the opportunities presented by the AfCFTA and to build the skills of exporting and potential exporting companies that are moving into African markets.

The training is in two parts. It is an e-learning course that includes 7 modules, covering topics on the African trade opportunity, export readiness, conducting an African market survey, and export market development in Africa, market access requirements, intra-African trade finance and delivery to the African market.

The 7 modules are available with free access on the following platform: www.afreximbankacademy.org

In addition, a pilot face-to-face training will be held at CEPEX headquarters from December 22-23, 2022.

The maximum number of participating companies is limited to 30 and the selection will be made on the basis of certain criteria: companies exporting and potentially exporting goods (the services sector is excluded, as it is not yet integrated into the AfCFTA).

The priority export sectors in the framework of the AfCFTA will be favored and regional representativeness will also be taken into account.
