Tunisia’s cereal harvest has edged down 22% on average and will reach about 14.5 million quintals this season, Minister of Agriculture, water resources and fisheries Saad Seddik said Thursday.
Directives have been given to grain collection centers for the selection of 305,000 tons of high-quality seeds to preserve them for the next growing season, he said at the start of the harvest in Beja, noting that there will be no lack of seeds despite the reduced cereal harvest this season.
