President of the Confederation of Tunisian Citizen Enterprises Tarek Cherif called the country’s economic situation catastrophic, urging the government to intervene immediately to deal with the crisis.
Tarek Cherif said the quite critical political situation has caused the loss of hundreds of billions to the economy.
He stressed that the political assassination as well as the general strike declared by the UGTT prompted investors to actually think to leave the country by moving to other more stable destinations.
“We are going through a particularly difficult time, especially since many investors have informed me that they are unable to continue their work in this situation,” he indicated.
