Tunisia: cooperation with Côte d’Ivoire moves into higher gear

Minister of Industry and Trade Zied Laâdhari is leading a Tunisian delegation of twenty Tunisian and French companies on a visit to Côte d’Ivoire from March 22 to 25.

Participating companies represent various promising sectors, namely ICT, banking and financial sectors, food industries, health, metallurgical industries, building, renewable energy, services…

On the agenda of the Tunisian delegation’s visit are meetings with the Ivorian PM and several businessmen and senior officials.

Visits in Ivorian industrial areas, professional groupings and economic centers are also scheduled.

A press conference and an economic forum will be held in Abidjan.

A memorandum of understanding will be signed by the Confederation of Tunisian Citizen Enterprises (CONECT) and the Ivorian federation of small and medium enterprises.

Côte d’Ivoire, a country with strong economic potential, has made great economic progress, particularly thanks to key reforms and the introduction of a new regulatory framework that helped improve the business and foreign investment climate.

Trade between Tunisia and Côte d’Ivoire has increased since 2011. Tunisia’s export to that country grew 8% between 2015 and 2016, reaching a value of 77.1 million dinars in 2016 against a value of imports of 4.4 million dinars.

The visit is organized in association with the French General Confederation of SMEs, EXCO Africa, AfricInvest and the Export Promotion Centre (CEPEX).
