The date harvest for the 2015-2016 season will reach 245,000 tons, up 9% compared to last season (225,000 tons), according to forecasts of the Inter Fruit Group (GIF).
Director General of the Group Mohamed Ali Jendoubi told TAP news agency 97 000 tons of dates have been exported until September 2, for a value of 445 million dinars (MTD) against 84,000 tons worth 370 MTD during the past season.
Jendoubi noted that the value of exports would reach 500 dates MTD, by the end of the current season (September 30, 2015).
