Tunisia: Dinar hits all-time low

On the currency markets, the Tunisian dinar continues to plummet vis-à-vis the European currency. It was traded on Tuesday morning against the Euro at 2.2572 dinar, i.e. its lowest level with a loss of more than 9.80% from January 1, 2013, according to the website ilboursa.

The failure of the national dialogue is one of the main causes of this depreciation. Indeed, since the January 2011 Revolution, the economic logic was no longer behind the evolution of the Tunisian currency but rather a political logic and especially the existence of potential risks for investors.

On Tuesday 1 Euro = 2.2572 dinars and $1 = 1.6689 dinars.
