Tunisia was elected Saturday as Executive Board member of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) for a four-year term.
The election took place at the UNWTO elective General Assembly held from 24 to August 30, 2013 in Zambia on the theme “Tourism and Air Transport Policies,” TAP reported.
Minister of Tourism, Jamel Gamra, who led the Tunisian delegation to this meeting, said “the General Assembly of UNWTO is debating a common strategy to provide the sector with a greater ability to withstand shocks especially for Southern countries.”
